2022-2023 Back To School Letter
Dear HAS Parents and Students,
Tuesday, August 9 is the first day of the 2022-2023 school year, and the administration, staff, and teachers of Hsinchu American School are very excited. This being the last year in our current facility, we are hopeful it will be a fantastic year for graduating seniors, and for all of our students. Certainly, we greatly anticipate the move to our new facilities in 2023, but we want to assure you of our commitment to provide the best educational experience in the upcoming year.
To maintain the health and safety of students, the school follows the COVID 19 epidemic prevention guidelines of the Ministry of Education. All students and staff must monitor their body temperature and wear masks. Students are requested to upload the quick screening test within two days before the start of the school year; the school staff has completed three doses of the vaccine, or those who have received less than three doses of the vaccine will be able to enter the school after the weekly quick screening. Parents, please be rest assured.
Next Tuesday will be a day to orient students for the school year. Students will receive their textbooks, locker keys, and schedules. They will also interact with returning and new students during various afternoon activities sponsored and run by the Student Council. The first day of actual instruction will be on Wednesday, August 10. Students are required to bring a laptop or tablet with a keyboard to school.
Also, on Tuesday, August 9 we will have our fall photo day for all students and staff. Please wear appropriate clothing on that day. We thought it best to take these photos on orientation day to avoid adversely affecting an instructional day. Please also bring a backpack, pencil box, and a water bottle. Students under our lunch program will be provided lunch by the Carlton Hotel. Please arrive at school before 8:15.

親愛的學生及家長您好
暑假即將進入尾聲，相信同學們都度過了一個非常充實的暑假。下週二 8月9日是2022-2023學年度開學日，新竹美國學校全體教職員已經開始期待，學生們返回校園，為寂靜的校園注入青春活力。今年將是我們在這棟教學樓上課的最後一年，期望在這熟悉的校園，為應屆畢業生，創造並留下更多美好的回憶。2023年搬遷到新大樓，有許多地方需要重新適應，我們向您保證，學校將提供優質的設施，讓學生們擁有更豐富的學習體驗。
為維護學生們的健康安全，學校遵循教育部COVID-19教學活動防疫指引，所有入校學生及教職員，必須監測體溫並佩戴口罩。請學生於開學日前上傳二日內快篩；本校教職員完成三劑疫苗接種，或接種疫苗未達三劑者每週進行快篩始能入校，請家長放心。
下週二開學第一天，我們將安排學生領取教科書、日課表、登記置物櫃領取鑰匙。下午則由學生會安排一系列迎新活動，讓新生與舊生有深層認識彼此的機會，感受新竹美國學校家庭式的溫暖；正式課程將於8月10日(星期三)展開，請學生攜帶筆電(有鍵盤的平板電腦)到校。
8 月 9 日(星期二)開學日提醒學生們，攜帶文具用品、水杯(水壺)，在8:15前到校，本學期仍是由卡爾登飯店提供餐盒，請參加學校午餐學生攜帶個人餐具。當天學校將為學生及教職員工，進行秋季個人照拍攝，學生請穿著合適的服裝到校。為避免影響學生課程，我們將個人照拍攝活動安排在開學日，請您見諒。
