The HAS varsity basketball team defeated HIS 48-29 on Wednesday, November 21. After a sluggish start, HAS dominated the middle two quarters thanks to a 22-0 spurt led by ace Peter Cheng's 18 points (all on three-pointers). After a switch to a 2-3 zone, the Wolves flustered HIS on the defensive side of the ball.
"The kids responded well to the zone defense and were active in the passing lanes and strong on the boards. Peter has become a legitimate three-point threat and we were able to pull away after a sluggish start. We couldn't stop their dribble penetration initially, but the kids responded and recorded 13 steals as a team and dominated the glass. Wen showed what he's capable of doing on both sides of the ball."
Peter put up a monster performance with 31 points (9 3-pt GF) and 7 steals. Wen Chuang added 8 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 assists. Ni Shiue contributed 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 assists.
The Wolves are next in action on December 7 when they host American School in Taichung.
