Library Trip

On May 11, 2018, the 7th and 8th graders took a literature field trip with Ms. Chen and Ms. Reep to the New Taipei City Library in Banqiao. The students toured all 10 stories of this amazing library which had different floors dedicated to different types of readers. The students learned about how books are checked in and out of the library, how books are sorted using the Dewey Decimal system, and how they could create their own library cards to check out all sorts of books and magazines. We hope that by visiting the library, a dedication to life-long reading was formed and that our students can visit libraries over their summer holidays! 2018 Spring Carnival

Hurray! Our 9th Annual Hsinchu American School Spring Carnival was a sunny success! On May 19, 2018, HAS hosted our Spring Carnival and it was a day filled with fun, food and great music. We are proud to represent various NGOs including World Vision Taiwan, Liberty in North Korea and Ai Heng Foundation and we raised over 7000NT for these great causes. We had many outside community businesses, including Leo's Tuck Shop, Hello Cupcake, Quantum Tacos, Nini's Corner, Habibi Patisserie, Sausage Shack and Indiatown, join us for the day and sell their delicious treats. The students also showed off their savvy business skills as they created and ran their own drink and game booths. Amy Lin, in eleve

We are so happy for the class of 2018 and are so proud of all the

Water Safety

On Monday May 7, our students received a special treat during our monthly Advising. The Hsinchu Fire Department came to teach all of our students about the importance of water safety. We learned about the proper protocol to follow if someone is drowning, as well as important tips to keep safe while we are having fun in these upcoming warm summer months. We would like to thank the Hsinchu Fire Department for taking the time to speak with our students about these important life skills.
