Student Life

Hsinchu American School students enjoy a very active student life, with a Student Council that sponsors Spirit Days, school dances, and runs the school store.

The school sponsors a number of co-curricular and extra curricular courses and organizations, including the Model United Nations course which plans to attend MUN conferences in either Singapore or the United States during the 2006-2007 school year.

Hsinchu American School sponsors clubs. During the 2005-2006 school year, clubs have included Public Speaking and Drama, Science and Nature Club, Sports Club, Theater and Drama Appreciation, Movie Club, Photography and Digital Imaging Club, Business Internship, School Choir, Orchestra, Baking Club, Swimming and Swim Team, Robotics, Lego and Board Game Club, and Art Appreciation.

Each student from Grade 9 is required to complete 20 hours per year of Community Service. Graduating seniors are required to complete 60 hours of Community Service as part of Presentation/Senior Portfolio. Students in the Advanced Placement Track are required to complete 40 hours of Community Service their senior year.
